All Classes in Survive Deep in the Woods
Every class confirmed in Survive Deep in the Woods so far, the lumberjack's verified wood bonus, amber gating, and which class perks remain unknown.
Survive Deep in the Woods has seven class names confirmed so far: farmer, scout, survivor, builder, prospector, lookout and lumberjack. Only one of them has a bonus spelled out in detail — the lumberjack gathers 3 wood per chop instead of 2 and gains +25% chopping speed once the class reaches max level. Every other class's perk is still unknown, and access to classes is gated by amber, the currency you earn from achievements and playtime.
The confirmed class list
The main menu holds a Classes section next to the shop, inventory and achievements. A readout of that menu names six entries: farmer, scout, survivor, builder, prospector and lookout. Lumberjack, which is definitely playable, does not appear in that particular readout — so the on-screen list is not necessarily the full roster at once. Open your own Classes menu to see the current lineup before committing amber.
| Class | Confirmed bonus | Where it stands |
|---|---|---|
| Farmer | None known yet | In the Classes menu; also shown being played in a full session |
| Scout | None known yet | In the Classes menu |
| Survivor | None known yet | In the Classes menu |
| Builder | None known yet | In the Classes menu |
| Prospector | None known yet | In the Classes menu |
| Lookout | None known yet | In the Classes menu |
| Lumberjack | 3 wood per chop instead of 2; +25% chopping speed at max level | Confirmed playable, but absent from the six-name menu readout — check your in-game list |
| Hunter | None known yet | Unconfirmed — hinted at only as a "hunter special" reward, never seen in the Classes menu |
No bonus text has been shown for any of the six menu names, so their perks are listed as unknown rather than guessed from their names.
Lumberjack: the one class with a confirmed bonus
The lumberjack does two concrete things: it lets you take three wood per chop instead of two, and it increases your chopping speed by 25% once the class hits max level. The speed boost is explicitly a max-level bonus, and nothing currently shows how either number behaves at lower levels — do not assume the 3-wood quota applies from level one. Since wood income drives almost every build, this bonus pairs naturally with the wood-farming routine.
One mechanic is often misread as a lumberjack perk but is not one: after the beast damages you, you automatically sprint without using stamina and even gain stamina while sprinting. That applies to every player, whatever class you are running — so do not pick lumberjack expecting that as its class feature.
How class availability is gated
Classes are not all open from the start: the more amber you earn, the more classes you get. Amber comes mainly from achievements — examples include chopping 25 trees, building animal farms, and staying to actually finish a match instead of leaving mid-game — and it also accrues over playtime at roughly 50 amber per 5 minutes, about 600 per hour. You can also buy amber with Robux if you would rather skip part of the grind.
The exact amber cost of each class has not been spelled out anywhere in detail, so the Classes menu itself is the place to check what you can currently afford.
Do class levels change bonuses?
Class effects are at least partly level-dependent: the lumberjack's +25% chopping speed is tied specifically to max level, so at least one value moves as a class levels up. What a bonus reads like before max level, or whether class names and menu text change on the way up, has not been shown — keep an eye on your class's effect text as it levels. Achievements award XP alongside amber, but nothing currently connects XP to class leveling.
What is still unconfirmed
- Perks for farmer, scout, survivor, builder, prospector and lookout — no bonus text has been shown for any of them yet.
- Hunter — it surfaces only as a "hunter special" hint in the achievements context and has never appeared in the Classes menu, so treat it as unconfirmed rather than a locked ninth slot on the list.
- The complete roster — because lumberjack is playable yet missing from the six-name menu readout, the visible list is probably not the whole story. Since lineups can shift between versions, the in-game Classes menu is the reliable source for what is live right now.
With most perks still unknown, class choice is mostly about playstyle for now — the best classes guide weighs the confirmed options in context, and you can track new balance changes on the updates page.
